Andre Johnson, Head Varsity Coach

This is my 2nd full season as a head varsity boys basketball coach, and my first year here at Parrish (my first varsity season was spent at Booker High School). Prior to being a head coach, I was the lead assistant coach for two years at Keiser University a top 25 NAIA program in the country. In my time at Keiser, I assisted the Seahawks to a Sun Conference Tournament Championship, Assisted the Seahawks in a National Tournament win, defeating the No.15 Georgetown College Tigers, Recruited 6 All-Sun Conference players along with 3 All-Americans and the Sun Conference Freshman of the year. I was also apart of 7 wins vs NAIA Top 25 teams. Off the court at Keiser, I assisted the program to earning a 3.1 team GPA and winning the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award. Last season I spent at IMG Academy in the on-court Skill-Development Roll where I worked with numerous levels of future college basketball players on the 3 National Teams (HS, PG, and Girls). Darius Acuff (Arkansas commit), Lena Girardi (Oklahoma State Commit), Tajianna Roberts (Louisville), Danil Glazkov (Loyola Chicago) Cole McCabe (Rider University), Will Short (Niagara University) and Eric Dailey (UCLA) to name a few. I played four years of College Basketball and my High School basketball at Booker High School. As a player at Booker, I averaged 23.2ppg and lead the county in scoring. As a player at Jones County a top 25 Junior College program in Ellisville, Mississippi I averaged 10.6ppg and finished my playing career at Division 2 Lane College where I averaged 9.2 ppg and was a member of the All-SIAC Defensive team in my Junior season. I love the game of basketball – the teaching, planning, and competition. I love the role that it plays in giving kids the opportunity to learn life lessons without real consequences.
